Polanski's win at Caesars prompts walkout protest

Several actresses walked out of France's Cesar Awards ceremony after it honoured rape accused Roman Polanski.

Actress Adèle Haenel left the room, followed by director Céline Sciamma and a few others.

The ceremony - the French equivalent of the Oscars - has faced immense criticism for nominating the film in 12 categories, with several women seen protesting outside the hall.

Apart from the best director, An Officer and a Spy won awards for best adaptation and best costume designer.

The French-Polish director, who is the subject of several rape charges, did not attend the event, saying he feared for his safety. 

Earlier, organisers of the Venice Film Festival also faced criticism for including Polanski's work.
