A new trailer shows Liam Neeson starring in the upcoming 'The Naked Gun' re-make, made famous by comedy icon Leslie Nielsen who played bumbling cop Frank Drebin in the hugely popular TV and film series in the 1980s and 1990s.
Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr, in the upcoming reboot.
In the trailer, fans see Drebin Jr tackling a bad guy with a sharpened lollipop, in the typical slapstick fashion the original series was famous for.
The new iteration is directed by Akiva Schaffer and produced by Seth Macfarlane, and also stars Pamela Anderson and Danny Huston.
72-year-old Neeson was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Schindler's List in 1993, and more recently starred in the action-packed Taken series from 2008-2014.
The Naked Gun is released in cinemas in August.
