Saudi Arabia's crown prince is not seeking to buy Premier League football club Manchester United.
That's the word from the kingdom's media minister, who took to social media to dismiss media reports suggesting that the crown prince was in a $4.9 billion (around AED 17.9 billion) takeover bid for the football club.
Minister Turki al-Shabanah tweeted that the reports are "completely false".
Reports claiming that HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman intends on buying @ManUtd are completely false. Manchester United held a meeting with @PIFSaudi to discuss sponsorship opportunity . No deal has been materialized.

The minister added that there had only been a meeting with the Saudi wealth fund regarding sponsorship but no deal materialised.
