Sharjah born striker Ahmed Kahlil has dedicated his AFC Asian Player of the Year Award to ‘the people of the Emirates’. Khalil is the first Emirati to win the award, making him the continent’s finest footballer. He scored ten goals in the UAE’s 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign and helped his club Al Ahli to reach the AFC Champions League final.
