American boxer Patrick Day has died after sustaining head injuries during a fight in Chicago that left him in a coma.
The 27-year-old was rushed to hospital on Saturday after he was knocked out in the 10th round by Charles Conwell.
His head bounced off the canvas when he landed, and he required immediate medical attention in the ring.
Day’s promoter Lou Di Bella says he died surrounded by his family and close friends.
