The UAE won its first medal in the Tokyo Paralympic Games in the 100-metre T34 race.

Wheelchair racer Mohamed Al Hammadi claimed bronze in the event, clocking a time of 15.66 secs.

The gold went to the world record holder Walid Ktila of Tunisia (15.01), while Australian Rheed McCracken took silver (15.37).

This is Al Hammadi's fourth Paralympic medal.

He had previously won a bronze and a silver at the 2012 London Games before clinching the gold in Rio four years later.
