Abu Dhabi issues warning against illegal parking

Motorists in Abu Dhabi are being urged to park their vehicles only in designated spaces to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), which manages the emirate's Mawaqif parking system, has emphasised the importance of following the rules and urged drivers not to park or stop in unauthorised areas.

The authority said it has observed instances of drivers blocking fire hydrants, parking in spaces designated for people of determination and in random locations, behind other vehicles.

"Inspectors from the Parking Management Department continue to carry out inspections across various sectors to ensure full compliance with the rules and regulations," it added in a statement.

Motorists could face fines of up to AED 1,000 for illegal parking offences, depending on the nature of the violation.
