Environment enthusiasts in the country have something to look forward to this winter, as the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve in Abu Dhabi is due to reopen in November. The park has been upgraded to accommodate visitors with special needs and also has new bird hides, one of which will be dedicated to the observation of freshwater birds. The authorities are also extending the walking trails around the site. The park was closed during the summer for the flamingo breeding season.
