Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has confirmed one of its vessels was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Friday evening.
The state oil company said no injuries were reported, with the situation now under control, the national news agency WAM reported.
In their statement, ADNOC highlighted the importance of seafarers' protection, freedom of navigation and maritime security.
The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) strongly condemned the Iranian attack and called on Iran to end all hostilities immediately.
The attack was the third such incident involving ADNOC vessels in less than a week.
