COVID-19: Dubai radars adjusted to catch movement violators

Dubai POlice

Speed radars in Dubai have been adjusted to catch violators between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am.

That's according to Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency at Dubai Police, who added that those caught disregarding the movement restrictions will be fined AED 3,000.

He reminded people to secure move permits if they wanted to step out for emergencies or essential outings.

The officer added that vital sectors remained exempt from the new restriction hours, and urged motorists to wear face masks and maintain social distancing guidelines.

The change in movement restrictions were announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, as he marked the reopening of businesses in the emirate.

The new timings will come into effect tomorrow.
