A Dubai court has sentenced a driver to three months in prison and suspended his driving licence for one year after a dangerous road rage incident.
Prosecutors say the reckless motorist swerved into another vehicle, chased the victim, forced him to stop, and then assaulted him after both vehicles came to a halt.
The incident also caused damage to the victim’s car.
Counsellor Salah Al Falasi, Senior Advocate General and Head of Traffic Prosecution, said motorists must exercise self-control and respect traffic laws and road etiquette.
He stressed that only the relevant authorities are responsible for holding offenders accountable, and that the law is designed to protect the rights and safety of all road users.
