Dubai Police has announced that sharing rumors, false information, or any content that contradicts official announcements and may cause public panic or threaten public safety is prohibited.
The authority added that violators may face criminal penalties, including imprisonment for no less than two years and fines of no less than AED 200,000.
The UAE has also previously strictly prohibited the photographing or sharing of images covering sensitive security sites to safeguard national security.
