Fujairah F3 plant set to power 380,000 homes as operations kicks off

The Fujairah F3 Independent Power Producer (IPP) project has officially begun commercial operations, with the 2.4-gigawatt (GW) facility capable of powering approximately 380,000 homes.

Located in the Qidfa area of Fujairah, the facility is considered one of the largest gas-fired power plants in the UAE, delivering electricity while supporting the integration of renewable energy.

The plant's features includes its high thermal efficiency, rapid response capability, and a low emissions profile, marking it as a key component of the UAE’s shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy production.

The project is launched under the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), Marubeni Corporation, Mubadala Investment Company and Hokuriku Electric Power Company.

Fujairah F3 is considered to be a significant addition to the UAE’s electricity generation capacity, highlighting the country’s commitment to deploying cutting-edge technologies that reduce emissions, boost efficiency, and support sustainable development.
