His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has praised UAE students for tackling an "unprecedented academic year".
In a video posted on his official Twitter handle, he thanked the teachers, students and parents for adapting to the new normal in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
"Dear students, an unprecedented academic year has ended... a test for us all, but we passed. Thank you for your diligence," Sheikh Mohammed said, before wishing them a happy holiday.
The 1.33-minute video captures the exceptional school year, which saw students skip regular classes for online learning as education institutions closed doors following COVID-19 restrictions.
