Nearly 70 per cent of UAE students use social media for five hours or more every day.
The figure was revealed by researchers at the Canadian University Dubai.
The study also found that social media can be a factor in mental health disorders.
The researchers behind the study have emphasized the importance of limiting usage especially for younger kids.
