As many as 721 beachgoers have been fined in Dubai since March for not complying with the precautionary measures related to COVID-19.
The violations were spotted during inspections carried out by teams from the Ports Police Station.
They have been monitoring the beaches using drones, in addition to their regular patrols on foot, bicycles, cars, boats and motorbikes.
"The drones are equipped with cameras that can scan areas during the day and night, in addition to loudspeakers to transmit messages to the public, especially in coastal areas," said Colonel Saeed Al-Madhani, Director of the Ports Police Station at Dubai Police.
He has called on beachgoers to maintain physical distance, avoid gatherings and wear face masks.
