The UAE's Cybersecurity Council has announced that it detected and countered nearly 750,000 attempted cyberattacks in the past period.
The attacks included phishing attempts, remote code commands, and cyberattacks supported by AI and advanced technologies, the council shared in a statement.
The council affirmed it continues to monitor and counter cyber threats, in light of the increasing number of attack attempts targeting key sectors in the UAE, specifically the energy and education sectors.
The authority stressed that the increase in the number of detected cyberattack attempts does not necessarily mean that successful breaches have occurred, but reflects the efficiency of national capabilities in detecting, dealing with, and reducing the risks of threats.
It pointed out that response operations are carried out within an integrated national system that relies on continuous monitoring, early detection, advanced analysis, and proactive response, in coordination with the relevant national authorities.
