UAE comes together to celebrate 48th National Day

Thousands of people came together to mark the UAE's 48th National Day as celebrations took place across the country, last night.

The UAE's leaders converged at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi, where a stunning theatrical show, titled 'Legacy of our Ancestors', told the story of the Emirates.

In Dubai, the Burj Khalifa displayed a picture of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nayhan, as the national anthem played at 7pm, before the world's tallest building lit up in the UAE flag.

A number of spectacular firework displays also took place around Dubai, at popular attractions such as Global Village, La Mer and Festival City.
