The UAE has strongly condemned the drone attack targeting two vessels at Damietta Port in Egypt on Wednesday.

A preliminary investigation by Egyptian authorities on Thursday confirmed that a drone caused a fire involving the two vessels, with no casualties confirmed.

And the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed their full support to Egypt, and that the attack constitutes a grave threat to the security and safety of international navigation and regional stability.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s Minister of State for Information, Diaa Rashwan, stressed that the incident “will not simply pass,” and that the government will not announce the causes of the incident until investigations are completed.

Rashwan said the state’s efforts focused on managing the crisis and clarifying its impact on the energy sector and maritime traffic. He warned against jumping to conclusions or circulating incomplete rumours on social media platforms, particularly amid the current regional circumstances.
