Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Johann Wadephul, Germany's Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a working visit to Berlin.

The pair discussed the latest developments in the region and the repercussions of the attacks that targeted civilian sites and facilities in the UAE using missiles and drones.

The talks addressed the serious consequences on the security of international maritime navigation, energy supply chains and the stability of the global economy, and discussed the importance of intensifying international efforts to protect sea lanes and ensure the smooth flow of global trade.

The meeting also discussed the attack that resulted in a fire in an electrical generator outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region, as a result of a drone strike, without any injuries or any impact on radiation safety levels.

Johan Wadephul affirmed Germany's solidarity with the UAE and its condemnation of these attacks, while Sheikh Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the positions supporting the UAE, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors in the country.

He also emphasised the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and Germany, noting the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries.
