UAE leaders laud 50 years of ties with Egypt

The leaders of the UAE have expressed pride in celebrating five decades of "friendship and cooperation with Egypt".

Taking to his official Twitter handle, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the country will continue to "strengthen and build upon those longstanding ties for the benefit of the people and the region".

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also lauded the close relations with Egypt.

He added that the two countries will begin another 50 years of solid and deep-rooted relations and joint efforts under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Three days of celebrations kicked off in Cairo on Wednesday to mark five decades of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Around 1,800 Emirati and Egyptian personalities, including politicians, businessmen and media professionals are attending the events.
