UAE offers condolences after deadly South Africa bus crash

The United Arab Emirates has expressed its condolences to South Africa following a deadly bus crash in the Free State province that killed at least 12 people, including five children, and left dozens more injured.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of South Africa, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

The bus, which was travelling from Cape Town to Zimbabwe with around 60 passengers on board, overturned on the N1 highway near Trompsburg on Thursday night. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, while more than 60 people were taken to hospital for treatment.
