The UAE has been ranked second in the 2025 Safety Index by Numbeo, a global database of user-contributed data on cities and countries.
This impressive ranking highlights the country's ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe environment for residents and visitors alike.
The index is compiled based on data from a variety of factors, including crime rates and the perceived safety of a country by its residents, giving an insight into how secure people feel in everyday life.
The UAE’s leadership has long prioritised public security, and this ranking reflects ongoing efforts to ensure safety for all who live in or visit the country.
While the UAE ranked second globally with a score of 84.5, Andorra (84.7) claimed the top spot, and Qatar (84.2) ranked third, while Taiwan (82.9) and Oman (81.7) rounded out the top five spots in the report which surveyed 147 nations/ territories.
On the flip side, countries with weaker safety ratings included Venezuela, which ranked at the bottom of the index with a score of 19.3, while other low performers included Papua New Guinea (19.7) and Haiti (21.1).
