UAE steps up relief efforts for flood, landslide victims in Nepal

WAM

The UAE is stepping up humanitarian assistance to people affected by floods and landslides in Nepal, with relief teams on the ground supporting search, rescue and recovery efforts.

The third UAE relief plane arrived in Nepal carrying a specialised search and rescue team and 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid, bringing the total assistance delivered to the country to 148 tonnes.

The teams are working with Nepalese authorities to assess damage, identify urgent needs and coordinate relief operations in the worst-affected areas, while distributing food parcels and essential supplies to those affected.

These efforts follow the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to allocate $10 million to support those affected, aid early recovery and help restore stability.
