The UAE has welcomed the historic border agreement reached between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, reaffirming its support for all efforts aiming to reinforce peace and prosperity.

The presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan signed a deal on Thursday on demarcating their shared frontier, seeking to end a long-running border conflict that has seen dozens killed over recent years.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed hope that this step would contribute to strengthening stability and constructive cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, the Ministry underscored the close ties between the UAE and the two nations, affirming the country’s commitment to supporting their efforts to foster peace, development, and stability in the region.

The UAE highlighted the importance of peaceful dialogue as the only way to resolve crises.
