Defendants in Dubai will now be able to face trial hearings via video conferencing into virtual courtrooms.

Dubai Police say they've equipped Al Barsha and Bur Dubai Police Stations with the technology in a bid to speed up the trial process.

According to a statement, the remote trial rooms have reduced the judicial procedure from seven steps to three and lowered the time and work involved in proceedings.
