Authorities in Abu Dhabi have ordered the temporary closure of a restaurant in the Mussafah Industrial area after inspectors identified serious food safety violations.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) said the establishment, Index Restaurant, was shut down following repeated breaches of food safety regulations and a failure to implement corrective measures.
Officials said the violations posed a potential risk to public health, prompting the administrative closure under Abu Dhabi’s food safety law.
The authority said the restaurant will remain closed until the issues are addressed and the business complies with all safety requirements.
ADAFSA added that the restaurant may be allowed to reopen once it meets the necessary standards and inspectors confirm that the violations have been resolved.
